Yesterday, Democrats voted against a bill I had authored that would require schools to teach our California State Constitution and other founding documents.
The Assembly Education Committee voted 2-4 to kill AB 424. My two Republican colleagues supported the bill. Every Democrat present voted against it.
This is what we are up against in Sacramento—a political party so out of touch that they’re unwilling to support teaching the Constitution in schools.
It gets worse: last year, the Assembly and Senate passed SB 48, which requires that schools teach the historical contributions of LGBT individuals. Yet, they couldn’t support teaching our Constitution.
Democrats will continue voting against mainstream Californians unless the public holds them accountable. Please, join me in educating your friends and family about how out-of-touch the ruling party in Sacramento is.

Please remember that people on both sides of the aisle want to put a STOP to COMMON CORE. The opposite is also very true Legislators are not following Republican/Democrat affiliations on this issue. Common Core is an American issue and it makes COMMON SENSE to get it out of Wisconsin!

Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-field of that war. Maybe it is about time that every American takes a close look at their government. The president takes an oath of office to “preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States”.”The phrase “so help me God” has been added to every oath since at least the mid-1800’s. President Obama has taken that oath a total of four times. Every congressman Takes an oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States”, and the phrase “so help me God” is part of the official oath as provided by the Constitution. If these oaths mean anything to these individuals, why are they so intent on passing laws that are contrary to our Constitution, or in a manner not provided by the Constitution.
In his Gettysburg Address, Abraham Lincoln said “that government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the earth”. But our government is not listening to the people most of the time. Instead, they are passing legislation according to whichever lobbyist, or political action committee, pays them the most. Our president even tried to sway the opinions of every congressman by giving them all a healthy pay increase in December 2012.
The “sequester” is a Democrat designed scare tactic meant to bring about cuts to nearly every branch of government so that they could increase taxes to supposedly counteract the cuts. It resulted it cuts to nearly every branch of government except congressional salaries.
They are also trying to pass laws using emotions instead of factual, sound reasoning. They have been unable or unwilling to take guns away from criminals, so that instead, they can take guns away from law-abiding citizens. Another problem for politicians is gay rights/same-sex marriage. Those areas are not even political issues. They are personal/moral/religious issues that have been raised in awareness by politicians looking to those groups for more support in the voting booths. When we are controlled by the morals of our congressmen, we will be in even more trouble, because it appears that some congressmen have no morals. Even the main-stream media uses emotion to promote same-sex marriage and anti-gun issues. We hear very little in the daily newscasts that can be described as pro-gun or anti-gay rights. They no longer want to report “just the facts".
Now let's see how many Patriots read this. "Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their Country".
