Since so many want to offer their views on marriage, here are some things to consider:
The Declaration of Independence has the following statement:
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
President Lincoln's Gettysburg Address contained the following:
"...our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal."
Jesus told those questioning him about political issues:
"Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's."

This country was founded on the principle of "FREEDOM". It was not founded as a "theocracy" or a "Christian" nation! I think it's time we all understand that in order to be an "American" you have to believe in the ideas of our Constitution as well as the ideas put forth in the many documents of our founders . Documents like the Declaration of Independence and the Gettysburg Address. If you do not believe in our Constitution, if you do not believe the words of the Declaration of Independence or the Gettysburg Address then maybe you are not truly an American. If you don't believe in Jesus or his words, then most likely you are not a Christian.
