Biked 38 miles on theYork Heritage Trail that goes from York,PA 21 miles to the Maryland border. It is a rail trail with a meandering creek running beside a lot of it, rock formations, and a tunnel cut out by hand in 1840. York, the first town west of the Susquehanna River was laid out in 1741 by two surveyors who worked for the William Penn family. For 9 months in 1777-78 York became the seat of the Continental Congress, because they fled Philadelphia as the British advanced. It was here in York that the Articles of Confederation were adopted and the French Treaty of Alliance, absolutely crucial to winning the Revolution, was signed. I was two miles from the MD border and after four miles of slight but steady incline, I started to peter-out, so I turned and headed back to York. Next time! Saw a small but moving memorial to the nearly 7,000 Korean War veterans from York Co. 54 killed 6 P.O.W.'s . Met and shook hands with two Marines, both nearly 80.

On the radio this morning, Q104 was talking about favorite vacation destinations.. which got me thinking about all the vacations I have taken and which might be my favorite..

There are the countless trips to Walt Disney World which will always be amazing! Oahu, Hawaii for our unforgettable Honeymoon, The two fantastic Carnival Cruises to Jamacia, Grand Caymen islands, Cozumel and Costa Maya. Virginia Beach, which was so much fun. Many Myrtle Beach Trips with family and friends, Nashville for my 16th birthday, Washington DC, my 9th grade trip to NYC, New Orelans where I fell in love with Bignets, Gettysburg PA to see the old battle grounds when we did a tour of the original 13 colonies (well some of them), Philadelphia PA to see all the historical sites and eat too many Philly Cheesesteaks, Okeefanokee Swamp in Georgia, Soccer trips to Canada, Somewhere in the Smoky Mountains where I vividly remember running up a hill and falling, scraping my knee, the crazy amount of camping trips I have been on, Houston Texas with friends in 8th grade, Panama City Beach in College, I mean the list goes on. How do you pick a favorite from so many amazing adventures!? So lucky to have been so many beautiful/interesting/fun places in my life time. Now I really want to get outta this state and go explore the world!

(Marinda) I actually have a ghost story of my own..and a video to kind of go with it. That I never really thought about until talking to Jeanie on our car ride to Gettysburg over the weekend.

Before we lived in the cemetery we lived in a small apartment in Wyoming Pa. My daughter, Olivia, was 3 at the time. She used to talk all the time about something in her room she called the " Flegal" she always described it the same way. ( I'll put a link to the video after the story in comments) She never saw it in any other part of the house and when we moved here if we asked her about it she would say it was at the old house. So it wasn't an imaginary friend that followed her here, or she took with her. Along with the flegal she used to talk about a white pigeon that used to come and sit on the head board of her bed an scare the flegal away sometimes. We did find out later that someone had died in her room. A man, of a drug overdose, and no one found him until his body started to smell and the smell was so bad they investigated. The neighbor said it was so bad they had to rip up the carpets put new ones in ! ( and we thought it was nice that the landlord put in new carpets and painted the walls !) So now after getting involved in the paranormal I do believe the " flegal " was the spirit of the man who died and the "white pigeon" was maybe Olivia's guardian angel or some kind of protector...but she was just too little to know all that.
