Tales from a Confederate soldier

Charles McCormick will don his hand-sewn uniform as a member of the First Virginia Confederate Calvary to appear at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 21, as the next Parlor Talk speaker for the Elizabeth Township Historical Society.
McCormick of Belle Vernon in his blue and white checkered cotton shirt and gray woolen outfit will discuss the cavalry’s engagements at Gettysburg, Hagerstown, Spotsylvania and Chickamauga.
He will show his 44 Remington pistol, cooking utensils and dress ball outfit that would have been stored in his bedroll.
Join the conversation at the Coates House, the society’s museum and library in Boston, Pa. For details, call 412-754-2030.
