I have been asked if we as a guild could work on getting Dragonwrath (legendary staff that comes with a pet for everyone), and I promised to consider it.

**Please read the entire post if you are interested in doing this**

Results:

1. An optimistic estimate of time to get it is 18 weeks (4.5 months). A pessimistic estimate is 34 weeks (8-9 months). Both assume a raid clears each week.
2. FL would need to be fully cleared by a group requiring at least 5 480 ilevel people every week to meet that goal.

Conclusion:

This is not activity that the guild should undertake as a whole- but that it would be much better achieved by a small, highly committed and flexible group of guildies.

What we do next:

If we want to do this, what we need is a dedicated team of 5 people willing to do this every single week for over 4 months. The group would choose it's own times to meet based on the availability for that week. The group can determine who would get the actual legendary item (a caster staff) from it's members. ***The person chosen would need to attend every single raid in order to progress the chain.***

Guild Support:

*I can offer that group some support in terms of theorycrafting the best way to optimize drops to shorten the time.

*That group would need the flexibility to decide their raid day each week so that all five could always go, but we could put it on the guild calendar so that if anyone else wanted to join, perhaps another boss could be beaten on 25man instead of 10man, and droprates increased.

The only exception would be that the group would not be welcome to meet Friday night in competition with our current guild events.

*For the odd item that requires gold (specifically sands of time, 3k gold each), gold would be provided from the bank.

**If we are going to do this, we need to put together a team. So the question I ask you, is:

Are you prepared to commit to this and do it?

Let me know here or in-game and we will build a team. When we have at least five people who are ready to commit to this pretty massive undertaking, we'll have a meeting.**

The year is 2040, gaming and e-sports are now highly televised events, and it is considered a mainstream activity. Gaming technology has reached a golden age, where the art of virtual reality has been perfected, and giving rise to the first Virtual Reality Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games or VRMMO’s. The most popular of these are Field of Glory, the natural progression from the now antiqued First Person Shooters, it allows players to live in a new world as a soldier or mercenary with any number of weapons, but the most popular is its sister game; Sword Song. A Medieval Fantasy world created for the players who loved the original MMO’s, with a player base that verges on nearly a billion subscribers it is the uncontested pinnacle of gaming.

In the world of Sword Song players can do anything from being a humble farmer to ruling over the land as King. The Kingship is decided every six months by a grand tournament where the best fighters from all over come to test their mettle; it is rare for anyone who isn’t at least a Knight to compete. The ranking structure within the game is based loosely on historical documents, those who have ruled as King once are titled Earl, twice are Counts, thrice are Dukes and the highest title of Arch Duke goes to anyone who can repeat the feat four times. Within the game currently there is only one Arch Duke, the leader of the top guild; The Kingmakers. Starting as a small group of real life friends when the game was first released they have forged a name and legend for themselves, having fought in every war the game has had, including the Northern Pass rebellion, the Arch Duke and his officers serve as advisors to whichever King happens to be on the Throne at the time.

The world is a naturally thriving environment, a complete virtual eco-system that develops and grows, state of the art Artificial Intelligence exists in every Non-Player Character (NPC) meaning; Sword Song is alive and growing, and our story begins with one new player taking his first steps into the game…
